Principle activities to do on site include exploring the extensive gardens and lake, birdwatching, wildflower and bushwalks. Children will enjoy looking for marron in the lake and river, feeding the ducks, nightspotting for possums and bandicoots or playing with the pet kangaroos.

You can spend a quiet afternoon by the waterfall sampling the local wines you have purchased during your travels, or enjoying a BBQ at the BBQ gazebo with friends. Many a lazy Summer afternoon has been spent indulging in a game of cricket or football on the mown lawns, or in Winter sipping a glass of red by a cosy fire.

Further afield, there are our wineries to explore, where you can lunch at some of the best award winning restaurants in Australia, or if you donít want to drink and drive you can be picked up at your cottage by one of the many wine/food tours available. There are also adventure tours, bushtucker and cave tours, or you can design your own tour in a luxury limousine if the mood takes you.

The area is known for itís gourmet food so you should indulge in some tastings at some of the local producers. Buy direct and enjoy meeting the creators of these wonderful products, such as cheese and yoghurt, olive oil, jams, vinegars, pickles, chocolates, coffee, and venison to name a few. Enjoy your purchases in the evening on the balcony of your cottage as you watch the sun setting over the river valley.

We are only 5 minutes drive to the famous Surferís Point where the Masters and Margaret River Classic surfing competitions are held, and the Margaret River flows into the ocean just round the corner.

Cape Leeuwin where the 2 oceans meet, is only 30 minutes drive away through some of the most spectacular Karri forest youíll ever see. The 100 year old lighthouse still operates and is open for tours, and the waves crashing over the rocks is a sight not to be missed.

Whale watching tours also operate from Augusta or Dunsborough in season and you are almost guaranteed to get up close and personal with these wonderful creatures, or if you prefer something more sedate the river cruise up the beautiful Blackwood River offers some magnificent scenery. Further North, Cape Naturaliste is only 30 minutes drive away as well, along the Caves Rd Tourist Drive through the regions many vineyards. The coastline between the capes has many beautiful bays and swimming beaches with stunning rock formations, and national parks. If you are feeling energetic, the Cape To Cape walktrack has 21 loop walks depending on your degree of fitness.

Our caves are world famous and you have the choice of taking an organized tour, or a self-guided audio tour. You can even don a minerís cap and torch at Moondyne cave if you are feeling adventurous.

For the moderately fit , the cottages are only 5 minutes drive from our local and very beautiful 18 hole golf course which welcomes visitors with very reasonable green fees, carts and clubs for hire and abundant local flora and fauna. You can also take horseriding tours with the sunset ride a highlight.

Finally Ellensbrook House, the historic home of the first settlers to the area is fascinating with itís air of mystery and the walk to nearby Meekadarribie Falls with itís Aboriginal Legend is a must see.
